There can be an overwhelming amount of cabinet styles, species, and finishes to choose from, but a seasoned professional will make easy work of narrowing down your personal style and functional requirements.

Door and Drawer Styles

Cabinet Frame Styles

When deciding how much to elevate your cabinetry, it is important to consider Inset vs. Overlay. An Inset cabinet door or drawer sits flush with the face frame of the cabinet allowing for a clean and orderly appearance. An Overlay door or drawer sits on top of the face frame and can either conceal it completely (Full Overlay) or show the cabinet frame between the doors (Partial Overlay). The inset application will come with a heftier price tag than overlay, but the result is always worth it.

Paneled Appliances

For a true integrated look, some appliances can come “panel-ready”. This means they are able receive a cabinet door that matches the rest of the kitchen allowing them to seamlessly nestle into the surrounding casework. This integration is the most elevated way to incorporate appliances into the space and softens their often harsh and cold appearance.

Finish

The choice between painted and stained cabinetry is purely personal preference. Depending on the species of wood, stain grade cabinetry can price lower than a painted finish. Then there is the addition of distressing, glazes, and sheen levels which can add to the cost as well.
