Benson Tyner
President
Benson and his brother Harrison founded Tyner Construction in 1979. Benson’s far-reaching vision and mind for strategic planning have made Tyner Construction the market leader that it is today. His strongest expertise lies in the financial side of the real estate and construction industries; he also excels in site evaluation and value engineering. Benson’s economics background and market savvy, combined with his dynamic and outgoing personality, have always enabled him to build an unparalleled level of trust with clients.
Harrison Tyner
Vice President
Harrison excels in fixed-price project estimation and value engineering. His exactness, knowledge, and depth of understanding about the construction business, combined with his unfailing honesty, make him an invaluable asset to Tyner Construction and to our clients. Architects hold his ability to grasp every single detail of any project in high esteem. He holds a real estate broker’s license and General Contractors’ licenses in North and South Carolina, and also taught NC building code and contractor seminars for many years.
Harrison currently serves on the Planning Board and as a member of the Design Review Committee for the Town of Burnsville, and is a former chair of the local Chamber of Commerce.
Marc Tyner
Marc is a licensed General Contractor in North and South Carolina and holds a real estate broker’s license. Having undergone Energy Star’s specific specialty training, he utilizes a customized, whole-house approach to energy efficiency and home performance, and keeps Tyner Construction’s green building practices evolving in step with new technology and innovations. Marc’s skills in estimating, value engineering, and problem-solving are essential to the company. His friendly and reliable nature lead to solid, trusting relationships with clients, architects, subcontractors, and suppliers, and his energy and expertise ensure that all of Tyner’s clients will be in good hands for years to come.
Marc has two young sons and is an active coach and supporter of the Yancey County Youth League and Toe River Soccer Association.
Martha Tyner
Martha has been involved with Tyner Construction since its inception, and her personable and straightforward style makes her a natural in the business. She specializes in project preparation and contract administration and oversees our billing, often forming lasting friendships with clients. In the office, she actively cultivates an open and easygoing atmosphere for customers, subcontractors, vendors, and crew.
Martha is also well-known among the local community for the popular spin class she teaches at the Blue Ridge Fitness Center, and she serves on the board of directors of Blue Ridge Regional Hospital.
