The Cliffs at Walnut Cove is a prominent and desirable residential gated community located in Western
North Carolina. Within its 1,600 acres of natural landscape there is much to see and experience. Their slogan ‘Modern Living. Old World Charm.’ is displayed throughout the community and is brought to life in the beautiful homes sprinkling the mountainside. In this month’s blog we will feature our Briarwood Traditional, a grand estate nestled in this prestigious community.

With its multiple gable peaks and grand stature amongst the sloping mountain terrain this handsome home makes a statement. Muted earthy tones create a subtle yet strong presence alongside the landscape and was designed to blend in while standing out.

One of the most notable textures is the Freeform style stucco with an integrated Sherwin Williams pigment: SW6108 Latte. The window and door trim color richly contrast with the siding in a custom formula that reiterates the Heritage Brown windows by Weathershield.

Cladding parts of the exterior is dry stacked Tennessee Fieldstone in a mix of black and brown stones. Crab Orchard Brown flagstone creates a walking path to the double Mahogany entry doors stained in the Mission Oak colorway by BAC. A three-car garage also features Mahogany overhead doors stained to match the entry. Cedar timber brackets at the roof lines continue this color theme and tie in the GAF Camelot II Designer Shingles in color Barkwood.

Musket brown gutters and round downspouts create visual interest at the master bath exterior wall and highlight the elongated façade as the home follows the contour of the mountain. The Jack Arnold queen copper chimney cap adorns the roofline and creates the tallest peak of the structure. Other elements such as the stone corbels and three-story stairwell windows reveal the grandeur and well-crafted architectural detailing.

This fully custom home began as a collaboration between architect and homeowner followed by a strategic interior design development process and was brought to life by numerous local skilled craftspeople. The Tyner Construction team was involved in every phase and worked closely with the homeowners to turn this dream home into a reality.

Even with all of it’s charming elements perhaps the most captivating visual takes place at sundown as the light slowly descends below the mountain peaks and the glow of twilight begins to emerge.
