At Tyner Construction, we work with our clients continually to advise them on the best, most up to date materials and fixtures available for their homes. This includes eco-friendly, green building innovations and solutions. We encourage our customers to embrace strategies that make their new custom home comfortable and healthy, and also protect the land and natural resources surrounding it. Our estimators and field managers are involved with our clients from the beginning to help design a high quality home that reduces energy and water usage and costs.
We incorporate many green building practices into our building process. We begin with the site work, putting into place an erosion control plan before construction begins and taking care to protect native trees and natural features that will remain on the site. Water and energy efficiency, air quality, and moisture and pest control are also carefully planned from the beginning of the building process. We generally recommend and install high efficiency and tankless water heaters, recessed, airtight can fixtures with compact fluorescent bulbs, switchable, automatic outdoor lighting, central dehumidification systems, Energy Star appliances, and gas clothes dryers and cooktops. We install furnaces with a 90% efficiency rating, and boilers with an 87% efficiency rating. We are able to incorporate geothermal, solar, and radiant heat systems. Air quality is enhanced by energy recovery ventilation systems, and radon ventilation systems are standard in our homes.
Our commitment to using the best materials available also results in the most efficient and enduring homes. Indigenous stone is used on almost every project we build. We build with engineered wood products and use spray foam insulation. As an Energy Star Builder Partner, we are able to incorporate a variety of features that will ensure a home’s eligibility for Energy Star certification. And we are committed to providing our owners with the information they need to maintain their homes' performance for the years to come.
